28th January is observed as ‘Data Privacy Day’ by the IT Community & Privacy Advocates and Professionals, among others . It aims to increase awareness of privacy & data protection issues among consumers, citizens, organizations, academia, government officials, etc. & help industry, bring forth privacy efforts and practices prevalent in the industry. With grave privacy concerns beginning to rent house in people’s head, this day becomes all the more significant.

Last year, on DPD initiatives, meetings were held across 7 chapter cities with participation of nearly 900 individuals. To take the message to greater number of people, DSCI designed and circulated a Data Privacy Day desktop theme to its Chapter and corporate members and other stakeholders. The Desktop theme reached nearly about 8 lacs desktops, thereby establishing an increased awareness on the data privacy need.

DSCI invites its members & associates to participate in Data Privacy Day by holding discussions and/ or training sessions for employees, with focus on educating and increasing the awareness on Data Privacy to all the stakeholders.
