Education and Certifications

DSCI is part of the global effort to enable IT and security professionals learn the latest technologies and tools, and achieve certifications that are recognized all over the world. DSCI works closely with its chapter members in helping them get the benefit of several established certifications. At present it is working with (ISC)2 and SANS on some of their training and certification programs.

The program aims to help local interest groups support their members by offering enhanced benefits such as convenient education opportunities and greater access to other local professionals and peer networking opportunities. The initiative also aims to promote the information security profession worldwide by increasing awareness of the importance and benefits of professional certification and continuing professional education among information security professionals.

DSCI has joined the (ISC)2 Affiliated Local Interest Group (ALIG) program on 27 October 2009, to support the local information security professional associations in the country. The Objective of DSCI-(ISC) 2 global Affiliated Local Interest Group (ALIG) program:

• To promote awareness of information security in an independent and unbiased manner.
• To foster and promote the development of professionalism in the Information Security Industry and encourage the professional development of the members.

The DSCI members fraternity is expanding across the country at a fast pace. With the ALIG Program, (ISC)2 members will not only scale up the data protection realm of DSCI but will also play a key role in raising the level of security preparedness in India.

All professionals certified by (ISC) 2 are required to maintain annual Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits. Enrolment with ALIG Program ensures that certified professionals through participation in educational courses / awareness events organized in India by DSCI earn these CPE credits.
