He has 25 years of experience in various facets of Policing such as Investigation of Crimes, Maintenance of Law & Order, Enforcement of Traffic Regulations, Security including VIP Security, Planning, Policy formulation, Counter Terrorism strategies, Project work, Resource Management at State, National & International level, IT application and Management. Loknath has been instrumental in the establishment of a state-of-the art Interrogation Centers in the CBI and is the main architect of the state-of-the art CBI Command Centre and Kerala Police Command Centre set up on the model of the FBI Command Centre in Washington, USA.
He has been chiefly responsible for the establishment of the Cyber Crime Research and Development Unit in CBI, the nodal Cyber Crime Research Department in India. He has been conferred with Meritorious Service Medal in the year 2002 for outstanding contribution to Indian Police and with Distinguished Service Medal in the year 2009 for outstanding contribution to Indian Police by the President of India.
He is an officer of the Indian Police Service (1991 batch, Karnataka Cadre) and is on deputation with NASSCOM since Feb, 2009. In his parent cadre he is an officer in the rank of Inspector General of Police. He has graduated in Agricultural Engineering, Punjabrao Agricultural University (PKV) in Maharashtra in 1985 and also holds Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
Mr Saravade served in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for seven years. His work involved enforcement of the Prevention of Corruption Act, investigation of bank frauds and economic offences. Mr Saravade has been awarded the Prime Minister’s Baton and Revolver for being the Best All-round Probationer of the 1987 batch of the IPS and also the Indian Police Medal for Distinguished Services.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad as well as a master’s degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
He has a unique distinction of training superior court judges, civil servants, police officers, law enforcement agencies, forensic experts and students all across India on information technology, data protection, privacy and cyber crimes. He has studied International Relations, International Economics, Law and Management from premier Schools/ Institutions in India and Europe and holds LL.B., Masters, M. Phil and MBA degrees.
