Nandkumar

Dear Members,

On July 1, 2015, I assumed responsibility as CEO of Data Security Council of India (DSCI). I am delighted to return to this initiative, which I had worked on during my previous stint as Director, Cyber Security and Compliance, NASSCOM. In the past seven years since its inception, I have witnessed DSCI taking shape as a credible and committed body for elevating cyber security, data security and privacy protection standards in India. This growth of DSCI would not have happened without the active involvement and support of all members and stakeholders.

We have scaled new heights, in terms of value creation for the country, Indian industry, and international community.  In improving cyber security, data security, privacy protection and tackling cybercrime, DSCI has proactively helped organizations drive security, privacy and compliance initiatives.

By leveraging its expertise in research and policy making, DSCI has established collaborative relationships with key ministries as well as regulators. Today, recognized as a key player in policy research, its role has become entrenched in several Industry sectors, besides to Information Technology – Business Process Management (IT-BPM), to include Banking, Financial services and Insurance (BFSI) and Energy and other industry verticals.  In the area of capacity building, DSCI has expanded the scope of the Cyber Lab Program for Law Enforcement and launched Privacy Certification Programs to meet the growing demand of skilled privacy workforce for the industry. This is complemented by our efforts to create a nurturing environment for the development of cyber security products ecosystem in the country. I am optimistic that with the recent establishment of the NASSCOM Cyber Security Task Force (CSTF), we are one step closer in that direction.

The way forward is exciting. While we are proud of what we have achieved, there is also recognition of the need to be agile and responsive to the changing cyber environment. At DSCI, we continue to value our stakeholders and continue to maintain a two-way dialogue, to not only tell what we are doing and why, but also to take in your suggestions and concerns. I look forward to receiving your inputs in person, whenever possible, or on mail at ceo@dsci.in.

Regards,

Nandkumar Saravade |CEO
