Awareness and Trainings

DSCI Security Awareness programs are aimed at IT/BPO companies, banking and telecom industries; and law enforcement agencies. All these are part of capacity building in the country. A focused program was started with the support of the Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and IT, Government of India, under its Cyber Security Awareness Programme. The following initiatives were started under this:

  1. Awareness seminars and workshops in major cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Jaipur and Ahmedabad
  2. Awareness creation on the various provisions of the IT (Amendment) Act, 2008 for a stronger data protection regime in the country, and what is expected of service providers to secure data being collected and processed by them
  3. Establishing DSCI Chapters and E-Security Forums in all these cities to enable security and privacy professionals come together to discuss their problems and find solutions
  4. Design and create an India Security Portal as a one-stop place for disseminating security information to corporate, government, public sector, law enforcement, students and home users; enabling exchange of information through communities, blogs etc.

Broadly, DSCI awareness program includes the following:

  • Seminar, workshops and events (national and International)
  • Lectures in academic and research/training institutes
  • Cyber labs program specifically for Police, LEA and Judiciary
  • Computer based trainings for masses
