Seminar on Data Protection & Cyber Security

Growing challenges of managing security of the data in organizations, corporate and government, that are increasingly connected with their global suppliers, partners and contractors, and the increasing exposure to threats and attacks demand a comprehensive approach to information security. This year saw various Indian Government sites falling prey to cyber attacks highlighting the expanding threat landscape and importance of effective cyber security practices. Cyber attack can generate outcomes that range from the simple defacing of a website to the stealing of data and intellectual property, and even disruption of critical services. In the current times of increased global data flows, understanding cyber security and data protection becomes critical to harmonize the operations and build trust for Indian industries and government entities.

Under the Department of Information Technology’s Cyber Security Awareness Program, DSCI is pleased to invite you to a Seminar on Data Protection & Cyber Security where issues concerning data protection and cyber security, with suggested approach to better equip ourselves in safeguarding data, will be discussed. The half a day long seminar will feature sessions on Evolution of Privacy in India, Cyber Security, IT (Amendment) Act, 2008 and topical issues highlighting the current state and need for data protection and cyber security. The seminar will provide a platform for government and corporate entities to connect with like minded security professionals from Chandigarh and learn the latest in data security and privacy domain.
