Internship Program

DSCI is happy to announce its internship programme for undergraduate and post-graduate students in engineering, management and law streams. Working on DSCI internship projects will give the student an opportunity to gain some valuable experience which will be of catalytic significance in his/her education. Every internship project provides an opportunity to work directly with the technical experts and professionals of DSCI. So, if you come work with us, you will work on impactful ideas and in the process, gain from experienced guidance in a professional environment. We provide flexible timings which can be adjusted as per your college hours.

On successful completion of the internship, you will be provided with an experience certificate. You will be provided a token stipend as well.

DSCI is a not-for-profit industry body working in the ever changing domain of Cyber Security, which affects not only the private sector but is a big concern for government’s across the globe. We provide advice for government and private sector. We are currently involved in multiple projects of national importance.

The internship programs are not limited to the technical aspects and cover other aspects as well.

  • You will be assigned a mentor who would guide you for the successful completion of the internship.
  • You will be required to do primary and secondary research.
  • You will accompany DSCI employee(s) in meetings/seminars/conferences (generally not involving outstation travel).
  • You will attend conference calls/ webinars.
  • You will prepare reports/presentation/infographics and present to the team.

Project: Mergers and acquisitions in the security market ecosystem

  • Create list/inventory of acquisitions of security and privacy companies and/or products
  • Categorise the acquisitions in a logical form

  • Device guidelines for product companies

Project: Keeping track of, and analysing, development of International/ Regional/ National Standards and related work in domain of security, privacy, risk management in IoT, Cloud, M2M etc.

Project Objectives

  • Identify the countries (US (NIST), India (BIS) etc.)/ regions (EU, APEC etc.) that have developed/ are in process of developing standards on security and privacy
  • Keep track of IEEE/ ISO/ IETF standards and protocol development processes
  • Identify the areas for which standards do not exists and could be formed
  • Analyse the Standards that are of relevance and have potential to impact Indian companies/ Indian security or privacy landscape

Project: Analysis of Privacy Breach Incidents globally

Project Duration: Three months
Intern for Project: Students perusing BTech/B.Sc/MTech /M.Sc/MBA

Project Objectives

  • Studying and analysing global privacy incidents/ events/ breaches; amount, type and sensitivity of data compromised; its impact on organization and national economy
  • Understanding the applicable laws/ regulations/ legislations on the organization or entity by whom the data is compromised in above privacy incidents and what has been the implications of such regulatory regime
  • Identification and analysis of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of those privacy incidents which means the primary or major cause of the privacy breach
  • Year on year trend analysis for past 5 years which includes statistical figures of no. of incidents, compromised records per breach, geographical spread of privacy incidents, geographies which encountered maximum breaches, etc.
  • Comparing regulation for data breach notification, across different geographies.

Project Objectives
  • The first and the foremost objective would be to understand the growing implications of Security & Data Protection in the two sectors.
  • Undertake a detailed analysis of pain points (in cyber security and data protection) of domestic as well as global organizations in the two sectors.
  • Prepare a questionnaire for conducting interviews with relevant stakeholders (online/ offline) to augment the understanding.
  • Prepare a consolidated deck for the two sectors. The deck must include( but not limited to) the following:
    • Bird’s eye view of the sector. Growth trajectory etc.
    • Cyber security concerns
    • Data Protection & Privacy Concerns
    • Best practices, initiatives taken by organizations( domestic as well as global)
    • Major Cyber security attacks
    • Major Privacy Breaches

  • You can only take one internship program at a time. You may reapply after completion of the same.
