About Event
Mobility is a business requirement. The advent of smart mobile devices, supporting a multitude of applications and running on high speed Internet has created a new and effective channel for organizations to take their set of offerings to the customers on real time basis, reduce cost and gain greater speed to market; and the government to deliver the citizen centric services and social benefits.
Organizations have deployed efficient practices for securing the organization and client data residing and moving through organization owned assets. However, it is challenging to have similar security measures on the mobile devices and applications being used by employees and consumers of the services. Much of the mobile technologies and applications are supported by the Cloud – which means that the data being transferred through devices can reside anywhere in the world. Besides, between the service provider and the users, there can be a number of service providers operating on behalf of the organization – sourcing companies, network providers, marketing partners etc – having their own security practices. In such a scenario, it becomes imperative for organizations to address the security threats to which the data is now exposed to by a) relooking at the organizational policies, b) creating secure channels c) educating their employees and users d) and most importantly, being aware of the new threat landscape.
DSCI Best Practices Meet 2012 will focus on these issues. With a series of panelists featuring the pioneers and thought leaders in secure mobile services and technologies, and organizations providing services through mobile interface, it aims to develop a ‘call for action’ for the industry and users to help create a and seamless and secure channel for business operations.
The Meet will present the features of DSCI Assessment Framework – DAF©- which helps organizations assess their current security posture by reviewing the strategy, processes, implementation, and technology solutions deployed. A debate on the provisions of ITAA 2008 and its business applicability will provide a baseline against which the security measures can be viewed.
