Technology Readiness Level (TRL) is assessed using the National Technology Readiness Assessment Framework (NTRAF), which evaluates technology maturity across nine levels—from research to operational deployment. Designed for the Indian innovation ecosystem, NTRAF assesses Technology, Manufacturing, and Programmatic Readiness, providing a comprehensive view of maturity and risk, with sector-specific criteria for Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals and Software & Digital Technologies.

Technology Readiness (TRL)

Assesses the maturity of a core technology from basic research (TRL 1) through full operational deployment (TRL 9) using structured, evidence-based criteria across nine levels.

Manufacturing Readiness (MRL)

Evaluates production capability and scalability — ensuring transition from prototype to commercial-scale manufacturing is viable and investment-ready.
