Rubby Singh
I am Rubby Singh from Ludhiana, Punjab.
I come from a family of seven, where our livelihood is supported by my father's humble residential roofing business. My educational journey is a result of this, and the varied disciplines chosen by my five siblings. Engineering was the only area none of them tried.
Honestly, I wanted to pursue civil engineering and extend my father's line of work to design, but due to a lack of moral support and a discouraging female presence in the field, I reconsidered my decision. So, I started my BTech in CSE from GNA University.
The first two years slipped by in understanding the intricacies of coding. Cybersecurity was a distant subject then. Only when the discussions around specialization came did I start reading about the subject. The area quickly caught my attention. I got fascinated by the multitude of specializations I could undertake as part of cybersecurity. Soon, internships followed, and my subject knowledge improved. By the final year, I had made a resolve to step into white-collar jobs only as a cybersecurity professional.
Luckily, Cyber Vaahini was offered at the institute where I was pursuing additional specialization. I enrolled myself and found the Cyber Vaahini program to be an eye-opener, as it helped me understand cybersecurity and its implications for the real world.
I dedicated myself for those four months of training, and by the end of it, had an amazing opportunity to intern with WhiteHat Coders in Mohali as a cybersecurity analyst.
I am sincerely obliged to Employment Express and the entire team of Cyber Vaahini for helping me grow as a professional. Their support helped me realize that if breakthroughs don't come, getting disheartened is not an option; one should keep trying and start anew as many times as one wants.
