Ajay Sawhney belongs to the Indian Administrative Service. He has handled various assignments in the State of Andhra Pradesh, covering land administration, law and order and quasi-judicial functions, rural development, health & family welfare, communication & information technology, e-governance and elections.
He led the establishment of the International Institute of Information Technology in Hyderabad and its emergence as one of the premier institutions in computer science education and research in the country. With more than ten years of experience in information technology he has steered implementation of several major e-governance and broadband projects. As Principal Secretary to Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, he was instrumental in the design and implementation of AP Fibernet Project for universalising Fiber to the Home (FTTH) in the State.
In Government of India he has worked as President and CEO of the National e-Governance Division, which assists the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in the implementation of the National e-Governance Plan, and as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas before his current role as Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
Arun M. Kumar, Chairman and CEO, KPMG in India is an accomplished global executive, entrepreneur and mentor, with experience spanning multiple sectors from high technology to Government and many geographies from Silicon Valley to India.
Kumar recently served as the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Global Markets and Director General of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service in the Obama Administration. Fredrik Forslund serves as Vice President, Enterprise & Cloud Erasure Solutions for Blancco, a division of Blancco Technology Group. Bringing close to 20 years of experience from the data erasure industry, he previously founded SafeIT Security, a security software company focusing on encryption and selective data erasure. With a keen eye for streamlining corporate IT security efficiencies and maintaining compliance with data privacy legislation, he is often regarded as a trusted advisor among customers. Jayesh Ranjan is a member of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) of the 1992 batch working in the state of Telangana. He holds a Masters Degree in Psychology from Delhi University, a degree in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and a Masters in Public Management from Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. Ralf Sauer is the Deputy Head of Unit in the European Commission, DG Justice and Consumer's international data protection unit. As such he is co-responsible for the entire work of this unit which covers data flows both for commercial purposes and in the area of law enforcement cooperation. The objective of the unit is to facilitate such data flows through multi- and bilateral arrangements at international level (including, for instance, the U.N., OPEC, Council of Europe, APEC) while ensuring a high level of data protection. It is also responsible for making sure that data protection requirements are taken into account in the design/drafting of Commission measures involving data processing.
Ralf Sauer has been one of the key negotiators of the EU-US Privacy Shield and is currently co-leading the discussions with a number of countries that have expressed an interest in an adequacy finding (e.g. Japan, Korea). He regularly participates in international conferences and panels on data protection issues.
