Annual Report 2017-18

Published: April 30, 2018

We are pleased to release and share our Annual Report for the year 2017-18. This year’s report captures important developments and initiative details carried out throughout the year in the areas of public advocacy, thought leadership, outreach and awareness, capacity building and product ecosystem development.

To highlight a few key initiatives, we undertook ‘National Technology Capability Repository’ project to build a repository of India’s capabilities and competencies in the cyber security domain across Industry, Government and Academia. DSCI also started its journey towards achieving its ambitious goal of developing India as a global cyber security hub for products and services. Technology Development Board announcing a Commercialisation Program for Cyber Security, and several young product companies participating in InSpreneur, Singapore, were some of the highlights of our Industry Development efforts.

With growing digitization and the country moving towards a digital economy, we undertook efforts to study the ecosystem and released a joint report with PayPal namely ‘Securing India’s Digital Payment Frontiers’. To address the need to educate end users and merchants on security and safety best practices while making digital transactions, DSCI in association with Google, MeitY and several campaign partners rolled out a nationwide educational and awareness program on digital payment best practices.

All of these and more have been extensively covered in this edition of the Annual Report. It also outlines the next year’s charter, and we hope, it serves as a valuable and meaningful read.
