Annual Report 2018-19

Published: May 31, 2019

DSCI is pleased to share the 10th Anniversary edition of its Annual Report for the year 2018-19. As we completed a decade, this year’s report succinctly provides a glimpse of our journey and major developments in the course of last ten years. The report captures important developments and initiative details carried out throughout the year in the areas of Public Advocacy, Data Privacy, Thought Leadership, Awareness & Outreach, Capacity Building and Cyber Security Industry Development.

The report also presents the key initiatives undertaken by us in the previous year. DSCI worked closely round the year spreading awareness around privacy implementations; first, GDPR and then, briefing members on provisions of the draft Personal Data Protection Bill and its implications on various Industry segments. To realise the CSTF vision and develop the Indian Cyber Security Industry, we collaborated with global stakeholders and showcased the India Advantage and our Cyber Security Product and Services landscape and capabilities.

This year, we successfully forged a partnership with Government of Telangana, to setup a Cyber Security Centre of Excellence (CCoE) in Hyderabad and have setup a Centre for Cybercrime Investigation Training & Research (CCITR) in collaboration with Karnataka State CID and Infosys Foundation. Apart from this, as part of our Capacity Building initiative, we trained around 1900 professionals through our Cyber Lab.

In year 2018, we further scaled our outreach activities by adding two new initiatives, namely FINSEC – Financial Security Conclave focussing on the BFSI sector and IDLS – India Data Leadership Summit to bring diverse themes, narratives and evolution of data to the forefront. This year, DSCI also has had a rich repertoire of Research Reports and Studies.

All of these and more have been extensively covered in this edition of the Annual Report. We thank all our stakeholders and members for the continued support and engagement in all our initiatives, and hope, the report serves as a valuable and meaningful read.
