We are pleased to share our Annual Report for the year 2021-22. The report succinctly provides a glimpse of our major developments and key initiatives undertaken by DSCI. In the post-pandemic world, we undertook various programs, campaigns, and initiatives, especially from the standpoint of enhancing the Cyber Security posture and preparedness among our key stakeholders. We continued to engage with our members throughout the year on various ongoing policy developments and leadership sessions. New member initiatives such as Connect4Security, Member Networking Forum, Sectoral Meetups and Gap-Fit Exercises were conducted as part of our engagement. Through our newly conceptualized programs and credentials, we were able to extend our reach beyond CISOs and engage leaders, industry associations and CXOs from different verticals.

DSCI laid special emphasis on its Threat Intelligence & Advisory function and came out with several critical publications in the forms of advisories and analysis reports which were disseminated to NASSCOM and DSCI members to help them stay current on the pressing threats and attacks and be better prepared with response strategies.

With our National Centre of Excellence (NCoE) and Telangana Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence, we have been developing the Cyber Security industry in the country through a series of initiatives such as skill building, entrepreneurship, start-up incubation, facilitating technology development and investment, collaborating with academic institutions for R&D, and overall ecosystem development to promote India as a global hub for Cyber Security. Our Centre for Cybercrime Investigation Training & Research (CCITR) continues to expand its capacity building programs for LEAs.

DSCI, as a knowledge partner, with the National Security Council Secretariat, GoI conducted various capacity building initiatives. The first in line was a three-day workshop on ‘Digital Forensics’ in virtual mode for delegates from BRICS states. A two-day practical seminar on ‘Securing Cyberspace in the Contemporary Threat Environment’ was conducted for Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) representatives. A ten-day National Cyber Security Incident Response Exercise (NCX India) for key Govt. officials of various ministries and critical sectors was conducted in a Hybrid format (Live Fire + Strategic exercises) where more than 140 officials participated. NCX India exercise aimed to develop cybersecurity skills, teamwork, planning, critical thinking, crisis management and decision making.

We successfully concluded the Cyber Security Grand Challenge where the winners were felicitated by the Hon’ IT minister and Minister of State, MeitY. It is a one-of-a-kind cyber security start-up challenge promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the country.
