We are delighted to present the 15th Anniversary edition of Annual Report for the fiscal year 2023-24. This report offers a comprehensive guide and engaging overview of all the initiatives and contributions made by DSCI throughout the year. With the primary focus to promote cybersecurity readiness and capabilities among stakeholders, users and citizens, we initiated new programs, campaigns and initiatives.

We explored the opportunity to expand our reach to new geographic regions, locally and globally with continuous engagement with our members, actively participating in ongoing policy developments and leadership sessions, thereby expanding our influence within the industry.

The year 2023 was marked with significant breakthroughs, especially the enactment of the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Bill. DSCI has been advocating for a holistic privacy regime since its inception and promoted privacy standards and implementation frameworks through its DSCI Privacy Framework to the industry since early days to contributing towards the data protection framework under the Justice BN Srikrishna Committee, and until the assent of the DPDP bill, while being a voice of the industry with active involvement in the bill making process.

DSCI produced a series of crucial publications this year, the most notable one being the India Cybersecurity Domestic Report 2023, which showcases the trends in cybersecurity spending with an overview of the cybersecurity products and services market, and the India Cyber Threat Report which provides a comprehensive understanding of the current cybersecurity threat landscape specifically tailored to the nuances of the Indian context.

In the past year, DSCI's Global Trade Development initiative played a crucial in making India a global hub for cybersecurity through delegations, specialized groups, and on-ground engagements. It helped in building some valuable partnerships with international allies through engagement with Embassies, High Commissions, and Trade Agencies of prominent countries in India. This year, DSCI’s participation at the First G20 Digital Economy Working Group Meeting and G20 Conference on Crime and Security in the age of NFTs, AI, and Metaverse, underscored our commitment to innovate together and also showcase our indigenous security solutions for the country and the world.

DSCI’s Centres of Excellence, the National CoE and the Telangana CCoE, promoted collaboration between industry partners, accelerated start-ups through incubation and entrepreneurial support, facilitated dialogue between start-ups and investors and forged academic partnerships for research through various formats such as roadshows, conferences, focussed group meetings, etc. Our Centre for Cybercrime Investigation Training & Research (CCITR) continuously trains law enforcement agencies to build capacity in the country for cybercrime investigation, digital forensics and thwart increasing online frauds.

This edition of the Annual Report comprehensively covers these areas and other updates. We express our gratitude to all our stakeholders and members for their ongoing support and active involvement in our initiatives. We trust that this report will serve as a valuable and meaningful read about DSCI and its initiatives in 2023-24.
