The Supreme Court released a preliminary draft titled “Regulations for Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Courts, 2026”, which aim to establish a comprehensive governance framework for the adoption, deployment, and oversight of AI across the Indian judicial system, and seek to balance innovation and efficiency with judicial independence, constitutional values, accountability, transparency, and data protection.
