New Delhi hosted the fourth global India AI Impact Summit 2026, organised by the IndiaAI Mission under MeitY, marking the first time a Global South country convened an AI summit at this scale, culminating in 91 countries and international organisations signing the New Delhi Declaration on democratising AI. This article analyses the Summit through a policy lens and its implications for India’s future AI governance landscape.
