NASSCOM-DSCI is happy to announce its fifth Annual Information Security Summit 2010 to be held in Chennai on December 2nd – 3rd, 2010 at Hotel Trident. Mr. Jeffrey Carr, a well known cyber warfare expert and widely acclaimed author of the book “Inside Cyber Warfare” will be the keynote speaker.

The summit will focus on contemporary challenges facing the industry and governments in securing their operations to protect corporate data and personal information of consumers and citizens Expanding threat landscape is spawning new technology solutions. How do the corporates view the economics of security? Moreover, some of the technologies may pose national security challenges, such as encryption. Governments are thus important stakeholders, since they are concerned about national security even as they seek to enhance cyber security. Data security and privacy protection are engaging the attention of corporates and regulators alike. Privacy, as an integral part of data protection, has entered the national debate in India, especially in the wake of unique identification numbers based on biometrics, and biometric identification tokens for numerous applications such as e-passport. Do security and privacy constitute a zero-sum paradigm?

The summit will include distinguished speakers and eminent panelists from the industry, government and academia to discuss topical issues such as: cloud computing, security in design, securing business transactions, cyber forensics, insider threats and reasonable security practices among others. Also, the findings of the annual DSCI-KPMG Data security and privacy surveys for BPO, Banking and Telecomm industries respectively will be discussed during the summit. DSCI data protection approach, based on best practices, its frameworks – DSF© and DPF© – and its data-centric methodology that helps an organization identify risks to information flows, and address them to secure data, and demonstrate compliance with regulations, will be discussed. The summit will provide an opportunity to the industry professionals to interact with the global leaders on the compelling issues of security and privacy.
