India is a primary destination for outsourcing by Japanese organizations. As such, Japanese organizations have been increasingly availing Application Development and Maintenance services offered by Indian IT industry. There are growing concerns of vulnerability that exist in the IT product. JP CERT/CC, Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) of Japan, advises Japanese firms on security incidents and vulnerabilities and security fixes. It disseminates knowledge through education and training.

With an aim of percolating secure coding skills in the IT workforce in India to enhance the assurance level of IT products delivered, Japan Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Centre (JPCERT/CC) in association with CERT-In and DSCI has offered a 2-day training workshop on “Secure Coding in C/C++” to Indian IT industry.

This seminar provides an opportunity to IT professionals of domestic industry in India to enhance their secure coding skills and also interface with JPCERT/CC researchers to discuss the relevant problems. This initiative will go a long way in providing assurance to Japanese firms, government bodies and their end customers of IT products delivered by Indian IT industry.
