The AI Security, Privacy and Governance Policy template attempts to enable organizations, especially technology user organizations, to adopt AI, Generative AI, and other forms of AI in a secure, privacy assured, and well-governed way. It will help to establish a framework for the responsible, ethical, and compliant adoption of AI technologies within user organizations establishing ethical standards, prioritizing fairness, transparency, and accountability. It provides a governance structure with defined roles and responsibilities for overseeing AI activities to ensure protection of customer data privacy and security throughout the entire AI lifecycle. It outlines key focus areas along with points, examples, and methods to support AI implementation.

The template is designed to be treated as a living document, regularly updated to reflect advancements in AI. DSCI would also update the guidelines based on new learnings and facts.

How to use it?

This template is developed as part of DSCI’s Member and Strategic Advisory. Organizations, with due acknowledgement to DSCI, can use this template in the following way.

  • The template gives areas and possible points for incorporation. The organization should carry through exercise to select their areas, and individual points.
  • The individual points come with examples, ways, methods, capabilities, and solutions. They are mentioned to give an idea about how a particular objective can be achieved. While preparing their own Policy, the organization must take its own decision whether to incorporate them in their policy, as they would be useful for implementation.
  • This document attempts to cover possible ways of adoption of AI in the enterprise environment, especially for technology user organizations.
  • It is advised that the organization makes this policy as a live document to incorporate rapid advancements in AI.
